But DreamWorks/Disney’sReal Steel is ruling its northern border American box office today and searching ata mid-$20sM weekendif not greater. Hollywood are only impressed if it makes sense mid-$30sM as this action pic includes a family overlay and it is budget was $110+M. By comparison, overseer and star George Clooney’s newcomerThe Ides Of March from his Smokehouse Pictures and The new sony hadonly a $12.5M production budget after rebates. But this hard-to-sell R-ranked adult political thriller co-starring Ryan Gosling is #2 today. It ought to be in low double numbers for that weekend the modest showing that Hollywood expected. Alcon Entertainment/Warner Bros’Dolphin Tale holds well again and likely are available in around $9M by Sunday evening. Same goes with The new sony Pictures’ baseball picMoneyball within the $7.5M range and also the studio’s belief-basedSherwood Pictures’ Courageous within the $5.5M range. Summit Entertainment’s cancer dramedy 50/50 should finish up within the $5M range. Universal’s Dream Home is not too dreamy having a pretty heftypercentage drop. And Disney’s Lion King three dimensional might be securely in the cage after its Blu-Ray release. Full analysis tonight.
